The Research Methodology for Islamic Studies course aims to equip students with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for conducting research in the field of Islamic studies. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of research methods specifically tailored to the study of Islam. Throughout the course, students will explore the following key areas: Fundamental Concepts in Social Research Methods: Students will delve into the core concepts used in social research methods, including sampling techniques, research designs, and techniques of analysis. These concepts serve as the foundation for conducting rigorous and valid research. Five Overlapping and Interconnected Stems in Research Methodology: Students will explore the five essential components of research methodology for Islamic Studies. These components, including purpose, cycles of reflection, critical studies of literature and reality, framework, and formative theories and principles, provide a robust framework for conducting research in the context of Islamic studies. Network of Seven Elements in the Research Framework: Students will examine a network of seven elements within the research framework. These elements, including concepts, objectives, values, commands, universal laws, groups, and proofs, form a comprehensive framework for structuring and organizing research in Islamic studies. Holistic and Dynamic Approach: The course adopts a holistic and dynamic approach to research, considering contemporary research questions from an Islamic perspective. Students will learn to integrate their knowledge and skills to explore complex research topics in Islamic studies. Application of Research Skills: Students will have the opportunity to apply their research skills to a subject matter of their own choice within the field of Islamic studies. Through this practical application, they will enhance their research capabilities and gain hands-on experience in conducting research in the Islamic context. Additionally, the course emphasizes the development of research skills, oral and written communication abilities, and awareness of various types of resources relevant to the field of Islamic studies. Students will enhance their research skills, learn effective methods of presenting research findings orally and in writing, and gain familiarity with diverse resources to support their studies. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation in research methodology specifically tailored to the study of Islam, enabling them to conduct meaningful research and contribute to the field of Islamic studies.
