The Specialization Program deepens and broadens the Core Program
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Our program provides a holistic educational experience in the realm of Islamic studies by offering a unique faith-based multidisciplinary Islamic learning environment. It is epistemologically based in the Islamic Primary Sources (the Quran and Sunnah), while offering students a robust background in the Islamic seminal works as well as Muslim experiences and manifestations of Islam within a pluralistic society.
CIC’s program draws on resources and approaches from a variety of scholarly disciplines to prepare students for employment in a wide variety of fields. CIC’s Honours Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies was designed to meet the highest standards of postsecondary education programs.
This four-year, multi-disciplinary program is a program which is structured around three essential and integrated components. These components are :
THE CORE PROGRAM
At the heart of the Academic program is the Core Curriculum which is composed of compulsory courses that are designed to provide a robust interdisciplinary foundation which is deeply grounded in Islamic worldview.
THE BREADTH
In addition to the Core Curriculum, the program is complemented with courses are designed to help students broaden their knowledge in the liberal arts and enhance their capacity to synthesize and criticize critiques from an Islamic perspective.
THE SPECIALIZATION
The Specialization Program deepens and broadens the Core Program and allows our students to focus their studies on one of the five specializations. Students can either select from any of the courses the courses offered.
